Donkey is Shrek's companion and best friend. Shrek met Donkey after he was about to be sold at a market, but suddenly gained the ability to fly and escaped his owner, before crashing into where Shrek was at the time. Donkey is obviously an ass. Seriously, stop laughing, it's correct.
